Democracy Forum at City of Birmingham Council Chamber

A group of our Year 11 students were given the opportunity to attend the 16th Annual Democracy Forum organised by the Rotary Club of Birmingham. The forum was held in the Birmingham Council Chamber. Our students were given the opportunity to meet local MPs and prominent politicians in questions and debate. Furthermore, our students gained first-hand experience of politics at the highest level. Local issues related to crime, funding and health care were discussed and debated. Our students were amazing ambassadors for our school!

Student feedback

“The question time was good, as we got to know more about issues affecting our local community.” – Erin Andringa

“The debating session was valuable – well organised and relevant.”  – Christopher McHugh
